Riedel in Quebec — intercom, MediorNet and video routing
Riedel integrator in Quebec: Artist and Bolero intercom, MediorNet networks and video routing backbones for broadcasters and large venues.

What we do with Riedel
Riedel does two things that matter in production: intercom — the system that lets a director talk to camera operators — and MediorNet, a network that carries video, audio and data over the same fibre.
We design routing backbones as a mesh rather than a star. The difference isn’t theoretical: a centralized matrix, when it goes down, takes everything with it. A mesh of nodes keeps running in degraded mode. For a venue with an audience or a channel on air around the clock, that choice decides what happens on a bad night.
What we deliver: architecture, node and link sizing, installation, panel and beltpack configuration, training, and support.
Growing without starting over
A well-designed network extends by adding nodes, not by replacing the core. We’ve delivered backbones that went from around fifteen to more than twenty nodes over the years, without redoing the design.
Questions we get asked
“Wired or wireless intercom?” Both, and the real subject is coverage: dead zones in an arena or a studio are found with a survey, not on a floor plan.
“Does it mix with our current gear?” Yes, in most cases. That’s one of the reasons to pick this family.
“Is it overkill for us?” Maybe. If a simpler system does the job, we’ll say so — we have no interest in selling you a network you won’t operate.
MediorNet MicroNThe node that carries video, audio and data over the same fibre — and lets you grow by adding nodes instead of replacing the core.
BoleroWireless intercom beltpack for the field: six channels, full duplex, up to 250 beltpacks per deployment. Also works as a control keypanel or a walkie-talkie.
NewMediorNet FusionThe bridge between SDI and IP, to migrate without replacing everything at once.

Born in the emergency, kept for good — Bell Media’s Riedel backbone
A routing architecture chosen under pressure, validated by use, then extended in phases — the best proof that an emergency decision can be a sound architecture decision.

Emergency mode: putting Bell Media back on the air
National channels dark on Friday morning, baseball on the air Sunday night — then full temporary studios, a virtual set and a routing backbone built in the weeks that followed.
